Special Education Complaints Process - TEA

This resource explains how to file a formal complaint with the TEA if an educational agency is believed to have violated special education legal requirements. The complaint must be written, signed, and submitted by mail, fax, or email, and include facts supporting the alleged violation. A copy must also be sent to the implicated educational agency. The TEA has 60 days to investigate and issue a report. Mediation can also be requested. Forms are available but not required to file the complaint.
