Specific Learning Disability (SLD)

Specific Learning Disability (SLD) is a special education category used for students who have difficulty learning in one or more academic areas, even when they receive appropriate instruction and support. SLD can affect skills such as reading, writing, listening, oral expression, or math. Common examples include dyslexia (reading), dysgraphia (writing), and difficulties with math calculation or math problem-solving. Students with SLD learn differently and need special education services and supports to help make progress in school.
