Learn how the admission, review and dismissal (ARD) committee decides if a student is eligible for special education and related services. The ARD committee reviews the evaluation results to see if the student has a disability and needs specially designed instruction (SDI) to succeed in school. Both conditions must be met for a student to be eligible. The ARD committee must make this decision within a set time after the evaluation is finished. The parent is an important member of the ARD committee.
