Autism (AU)

Autism is a disability that can affect how a student communicates, interacts with others, and/or behaves. Students with autism may learn, communicate, or respond to their environment in different ways. A medical diagnosis is not required for a student to receive special education services under autism. The school evaluation focuses on the student’s needs, and the evaluation report includes supports for communication, social skills, and positive behavior to help the student succeed in school.
