Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH)

Deaf or Hard of Hearing means a student has a hearing difference that affects how they listen, communicate, or learn in school. Hearing differences can range from mild to severe and may affect students in different ways. Schools use hearing evaluations and communication assessment information to understand the student’s needs. Supports may include hearing assistive technology, communication supports, and classroom adjustments to help the student access learning and participate fully in school.
