The DHH Program at ESC Region 11 provides support and resources for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, as well as their families and educators. The program offers guidance on identifying students’ needs, developing individualized education plans (IEPs), and implementing effective instructional strategies. Services include professional development for teachers, assistive technology guidance, and consultation on communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken language. The program aims to improve educational outcomes, social development, and language skills for DHH students while equipping families and schools with tools to support success in academic and community settings.
