Learn how an individualized education program (IEP) is created for a student who receives special education services. Parents and school staff work together as an admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee to develop the IEP, which is a written plan based on the student’s needs that outlines the student’s learning goals, services, and supports at school. Once the plan is in place, the school follows it to support the student’s learning and progress.
