Response to Intervention

The Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a comprehensive, evidence-based framework used in Texas schools to promote academic success, positive behavior, and mental wellness for all students by providing layered levels of support—universal, targeted, and intensive—based on individual student needs. It integrates systems like Response to Intervention (RtI), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and school mental health (SMH) services to ensure early identification and intervention for both academic and non-academic challenges.
