Multiple Disabilities (MD)

Multiple Disabilities means a student has two or more significant, long-term disabilities that, when combined, create learning and support needs that cannot be met by focusing on just one disability at a time. This category is not used just because a student has more than one disability; rather, the student must meet additional, specific criteria. Supports for these students are designed to address the combined impact of their disabilities, which creates unique needs that affect learning, communication, and daily functioning in school.
