Learn how transition services help students get ready for life after high school, such as college, work, or living as independently as possible. Transition planning focuses on the student’s strengths, interests, and goals. In Texas, transition planning is included in the individualized education program (IEP) by the student’s 14th birthday. The admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee will identify steps the student and family can take and the services the school will provide.
