Learn what it means to give permission for a special education evaluation. Before an evaluation can begin, the school must explain what they plan to do, why the evaluation is needed, and how it may help the student. Families receive information in their native language that explains the evaluation process and their rights. The school must make sure the parent or adult student understands everything before asking for written permission to evaluate.
